The first time it happened, I was embarassed. The second time, a little self conscious. But being asked a THIRD time in under a month whether I’m pregnant? NOW I’m on a mission.
And for the record, It’s a food baby.
In all fairness, I can see why people would ask. For starters, I’m a belly gainer- meaning half of the 15 pounds I’ve amassed since last summer are on my gut. So yes, I could easily pass for a pregnant woman. Which would be totally fine and all if I WAS one. But for the time being, I’m just a chick with a mummy tummy, stuck in a rut with too many treats in the pantry and not enough time to exercise.
But I have a plan. Here’s how it’s going to go down:
1. I’m setting a goal of a minimum 15 pounds, because according to my doctor, that is how much I need to lose.
2. I’m going to keep you updated. Consider this post part one of a (hopefully short) series with a very happy ending.
3. I’m inviting you to join me because having weight loss buddies will be a fun way to stay on track and motivated.
4. We’re going to have a party to celebrate our accomplishments together (details to be announced once we’re closer to our goals)
So…are you in? There are no rules- you choose whatever weight loss or fitness regimen works for you. Keep track of your progress and join us in the Weight Loss Challenge board on the Mums ‘n Chums forum for fun, supportive discussion.
I look forward to sharing with you, don’t make me do it alone!!!!

“Sara- great idea on the weight loss challenge! Best advice I received: if you aren’t willing to give it up forever, don’t give it up to lose weight, instead learn how to enjoy it within your new lifestyle. I’ve done the weight loss already but I am cheering you on – bye bye food baby!!!”
