Weight Loss Challenge- Part 3

Weight Loss Challenge- Part 3

Keeping up with the weight loss challenge has been a challenge in itself. With the website gaining momentum now, finding extra time to spend on my fitness goals has been near impossible.

To be honest, in the past two weeks I have done nothing- no exercise, no meal planning, and definitely no stepping on the scale!

I’ve been feeling disappointed with myself, at a loss for how to get back on track. Luckily, that problem was solved for me when a fantastic package arrived- the Epicure Selections “A Healthier You” program. This lovely gift came courtesy of my local Epicure Selections representatives, Shari White and Sheri Binsell, who read about the Weight Loss Challenge and wanted to help. Awesome!

Epicure Selections "A Healthier You"Never one to resist a prezzie, I opened the adorable box and started to check it out. The literature explains how Epicure’s “A Healthier You” is a 28 day health plan, and not a diet (I like it already!). It doesn’t even shun the occasional dessert, which makes me like it even more. Rather, it is a “guide to feeling better and enjoying a healthy lifestyle”, encouraging balanced nutrition, smaller portions, and staying active. Things that shouldn’t be difficult, but somehow are for many of us. I was curious about how this program could help me be successful with that, when other similar ones hadn’t. After exploring the contents a little more, I understood.

The package, available for about $50.00 in the Epicure Selections catalogue, includes a handy binder filled with healthy recipes, meal planning advice, nutritional analysis, and tips for getting the whole family healthier. It also comes with a “Perfect Portions” dinner plate, divided into sections to ensure ideal portion sizes (probably the main issue I need help with!), and a guide filled with great tips on selecting “perfect portions”. There is a digital pedometer, convenient “Dining Out” card to take to restaurants, a grocery planner and weekly meal planner as well.

Ah, yes- accountability. One of the hardest parts of weight loss for me, now taken care of thanks to my friends at Epicure. I’m excited to give it a try and will be starting now. That’s starting, and not starving , because I won’t be on a diet! I’ll be following a sensible, organized plan, and that, folks, is something I can do!
