We couldn’t have possibly had more fun at the first Holiday Bash for Toy Mountain, and we couldn’t have possibly done it without you, our amazing members!
By Sara Hodge
Back in early November, I decided on a whim to host Mums ‘n Chums’ first Holiday Bash . I knew I wanted it to be incredibly fun, and free for Mums ‘n Chums members to participate, but also wanted to make sure it would somehow benefit a charity drive, particularly one that helps children. At the moment I was sitting on my couch thinking about it, I saw Tom Brown on CTV Toronto News mention the upcoming Toy Mountain campaign and instantly knew what I wanted to do. As with previous bashes we’ve done, I wanted to , but without much time to organize and prepare, it was a daunting task.
Luckily, around that same time, I had the honour of meeting my now great friend, Lisa Davis of Mommy Connections Mississauga. We had clicked the first time we met and knew we wanted to work together on something, but at the time it wasn’t clear what. But when the Toy Mountain party idea came to me, I knew who to call! Lisa and I excitedly agreed to be partners in organizing the Holiday Bash and I couldn’t be more thankful we did.
Lisa Davis and I with some of the toys we collected at the Holiday Bash. This was BEFORE the party started!!
Under a tight deadline, we pulled Holiday Bash together on limited resources, and ended up hosting an event that was far beyond our expectations.
We loved seeing the kiddos making new friends and having a blast!
Thank you again to all of our fabulous sponsors (listed below) and to our venue host Taima Zone! Thanks also to Atomic Spark and Emily Krbec Photography for the great footage. Most of all, thanks to everyone who joined us and to everyone who contributed toys and support leading up to, and during, the party. We could not have done it without you. I’d like to also personally thank Lisa, as I could not have asked for a better partner- we work incredibly well together. So well, we’ve decided to do this again next year!
