We were invited to a very well planned Hasbro party in September to celebrate the launch of the new Let’s Rock! Elmo doll. And what a party it was!

Playskool toy tables at the Let’s Rock! Elmo launch party were kid magnets with these adorable plush Sesame Street characters! (right)
Being a blogger for a parenting network, I (and often my children) get the privelege of attending lots of great toy launches, but this one was (even to a sleep deprived mom of a newborn!) very memorable.
Let’s Rock! Elmo with Nikki Yanofsky
From the adorable life-sized Sesame Street characters to an enchanting photo opp with the lovely Nikki Yanofsky, who was there to sing with Elmo, this party had everything a kid could want. I loved that they had child friendly nibbles, fun toy tables, and great music to keep the little ones occupied, too! But it was the guest of honour- Let’s Rock! Elmo – who stole the show.
My four year old, a HUGE Elmo fan, was delighted with this fun and musical new character. Let’s Rock! Elmo even got wide-eyed giggles from baby with his cute, wiggly dance moves, happy songs and ability to ‘play’ the little drums and tambourine (included) when you place them in front of him. We also got a kick out of watching him sing into his little microphone, which my son now does as well.
When we left the party with a Let’s Rock! Elmo of our own though, I have to admit I secretly wondered how long it would be before I was sick of listening to him. But now, almost two months after bringing him home, I’m really not. Believe me, we have just about every animated toy there is, and some have had their batteries removed in an effort to save my sanity! But Let’s Rock! Elmo isn’t going to lose his. Mainly because he’s really not annoying, even though he’s getting a lot of use around here.
Let’s Rock! Elmo has a variety of fun, harmonized songs and cute sayings and even says a polite goodbye when we finish playing with him. My son especially loves that Elmo is interactive and responds accordingly when you place his instruments before him. Aside from the drums, microphone and tambourine that are included with Let’s Rock! Elmo, there are other instruments (each sold separately) you can add to his collection, including a guitar (SRP $29.99), keyboard (SRP $29.99), and interactive microphone (SRP $21.99) – all of which, when placed in front of Let’s Rock! Elmo will prompt him to “magically” know it is there and respond by playing and singing along with you!

This article is long overdue and I’d like to thank the amazing people at Hasbro for being so patient with me. Blog writing has become an arduous process with a new baby in my life, but this is one I’ve wanted to write!
Special thanks to Playskool and Hasbro, not only for inviting us, but for their patience with me in posting this. I’d like to also give them a special shout out for donating toys, including Let’s Rock! Elmo to our Holiday Bash for Toy Mountain event , despite the fact that Hasbro is already donating via their own Toy Mountain campaign! Many needy children will get special gifts this year thanks to them. ~ Sara.
