I'm Going to the She's Connected Conference

Last week, I found out that I’ve been invited to the Shes Connected Conference in Toronto on October 20th. What does that mean to you? Read on!

I am a person who loves to stay connected, and I love to see others connect as well, both in person and digitally. That love is what drove me to create Mums ‘n Chums- to encourage more connectedness and bring people together.

Why?

Because amazing things come of it. Since launching this site, I have seen shy first-time moms sharing some laughs at a morning brunch. I have seen risk-fearless womenpreneurs form mutually beneficial ties at our Networking Women meetings. And I have seen myself become a changed person.

Over the last 8 months since Mums ‘n Chums was launched, I have learned a lot about being connected, thanks to our over 300 members. Connected not only on a personal level in some cases, but digitally as well, from chatting with parents on our forum to discussing events on Facebook and enjoying lively discussions on Twitter.

I.Love.Twitter.

Anyone who knows me knows I never shut up about the benefits of using Twitter. The number of amazing people you can connect with there is, to me, astounding and any business that isn’t on yet really should be. Like, right now. But I’ll digress on that and get back to the point.

ShesConnected ConferenceThe point is, all that connectedness means something, and is worth something. I am very fortunate to have been selected as one of only 100 Canadian women to attend Shes Connected , a one day conference and workshop for digitally influential women. Shes Connected is all about bringing these women together with industry leading brands like Kobo Inc., The Coca Cola Company, Calvin Klein Fragrances, Smashbox Cosmetics, and more for the purpose of gaining insights on great ways to work together.

Here’s the “why you should care” part:

Have your say! Is there something you’d like me to ask or suggest on your behalf while at the conference, or just have general comments?* We’d love to hear from you- click here to share it.
